Heartbeat, Songs of Love, Hope and Renewal 2004

Heartbeat is Pat's second album and is a collection of 14 original songs. The album was made at a time of limited finances with a young family to raise and the album was made possible by a grant from the Ontario Arts Council and by many wonderful friends who financially sponsored songs. 10 friends for example sponsored Lyre Farm, a beautiful folk song about the gift of simple things through the eyes of a man who ”lived the land” 

As with all her music, Pat’s lyrics and melodies blend to create a poetry of sound. Heartbeat includes several beautiful love songs, as well as songs calling for a reclaiming of hope after times of chaos, injustice or loss. Also featured are songs of healing, and songs about our connection with nature and the divine spark within.

Out of This Brokenness lifts us out of the brokenness that we all face at times in our life and invites us to rise and sing.

These voices born of earth and moon and stars
It’s who we are”

Heartbeat, Rest Now and Take Me to the Water are love songs that will inspire and soothe you. Walk to the Mountains is a social justice song that challenges us to look more closely at the violence faced by many women in their homes and in society.
